Jobber and Housecall Pro are two of the best-known job-management apps for small trade and home-service businesses. Both handle scheduling, quotes, invoices and payments from your phone. The differences are in price, where they sell, and the add-ons.

This is a research comparison. Prices and features come from each company’s pricing page and help centre, read on 8 October 2026. We haven’t run a business on either yet.

The short version

Jobber starts cheaper for one person, sells in the UK as well as the US, and publishes the price of its AI receptionist. Housecall Pro is US-focused, its first team plan includes five users, and it puts marketing and review tools in the same app.

Prices in practice

Both sell by plan, and the cheapest plan is for one user. Here’s what that means as you grow:

  • One person: Jobber Core is $49/mo· checked 8 Oct 2026 on getjobber.com, and Housecall Pro Basic is $79/mo· checked 8 Oct 2026 on housecallpro.com.
  • A small team: Jobber adds $29 a month per extra user on Core. Housecall Pro jumps to Essentials at $189 a month, which includes five users.
  • Paying yearly: both are cheaper billed annually. Jobber Core falls to $29 a month billed annually, and Housecall Pro Basic to $59. Check the current offer on each pricing page, because both run introductory promotions.

Full plan details: Jobber pricing and Housecall Pro pricing. Housecall Pro’s page doesn’t clearly label which figure is the monthly price, so treat its numbers as a guide.

AI call answering

Both now sell an AI add-on that answers calls when you can’t:

If answering calls is your main problem rather than job management, see answering calls for standalone options, some of them cheaper.

Before you switch

Both offer a free 14-day trial without a card. Jobber’s trial runs on its Grow plan and Housecall Pro’s on Max, so you’re trialling more than the cheapest plan includes. Write down which features you actually use during the trial before picking a plan.
